I woke up this morning to the drizzling rain, my mojo rested, looking forward to the day. My tired body is long gone after a restful night. I put on a robe and switch on the kettle. My phone is in the corner charging, I muted the sound and turned off the notifications. I sit on the edge of the bed and stretch out. I haven’t felt this rested in months. The kettle starts to whistle and bubble. I pour the boiling water into my cup, watching the water turn honey brown. The smell of rooibos tea is refreshing. I pick up the cup, take a small sip and walk to the window. I open the blinds. I can’t believe my eyes.

The crisp light rays shine into the room. The clouds opened, allowing the rays of light to dance onto the ocean surface. The wind blows the saltwater in all directions. The swells are huge, pounding waves into the shore. The light moves swiftly. The sun rays disappear into the clouds and flashback down onto the water. The silver sparkles dance in unison turning the sea into a sliver light show as if orchestrated from the dark rain clouds. A ballet of highlights run across the moody waves. The rain pours down. I see water drops sparkle and disappear into the waves. I follow the light disappearing into the heavy rain clouds blowing across the Indian ocean. Mesmerized, I finish my tea, draw the blinds and fall asleep to the sound of continuous tropical rain.
